Currency in circulation (CiC), increased by 11.9% (vis-à-vis 6.1% last year), to reach the all-time high level of Rs 41.6 trillion during FY26, with an incremental growth of Rs 4.4 trillion, highest growth since the post-demonetisation in 2016, when it had increased by Rs 4.9 trillion.
